a-plenty. Darrell Burt managed to set himself apart from the crowd
with his finely tuned flying skills, and stick his wing closest to the
spot.
It's no ordinary feat: the LZ has an annoying downhill slope that can keep you floating forever. Past contestants have used all manner of maneuvers to bleed off airspeed, including using the wingtips as drag. Literally. In the weeds. That's how the contest got its name.... |
